Audi has officially confirmed the Q6 e-tron that’ll slot between the Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron electric SUVs.
It will be offered in SUV and Sportback coupe-SUV variants.
It is based on the PPE platform shared with the Porsche Macan EV and Audi A6 e-tron electric sedan.
Likely to be unveiled later in 2023, launch timeline yet to be revealed.
European carmaker Audi is working towards a massive portfolio of over ten all-electric models by 2025. One of these is a new SUV that has now been confirmed by the carmaker – the Audi Q6 e-tron EV – that’ll slot between the Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron SUVs in Audi’s electric lineup. Moreover, the Q6 e-tron is the first Audi vehicle to be based on the next-gen Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture for luxury EVs.
It’s also the first Audi vehicle to sport a split headlight setup, a design cue that’s evident despite the heavy camouflage on the test mules. We’ve seen this trend on BMW’s X7 and 7 Series vehicles and it seems that Audi is adopting split headlights for select models as well. The camo also does little to hide the Q6 e-tron’s sleek body lines and creases. At the front, it should get a large covered-up hexagonal “grille” similar to the Q4 e-tron EV.
At the rear, the Q6 e-tron sports cool LED elements in its split taillight setup. Not much else is visible in the pictures, and since Audi says the prototype pictured is “production-oriented”, we should take its design details with a grain of salt.

The Q6 e-tron will have an 800-volt electric architecture that’ll allow ultra-fast charging. It should get dual-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain options; the Q4 e-tron can also be had in rear-wheel drive in select overseas markets.

Apart from the Q6 e-tron, the upcoming Audi A6 e-tron electric sedan and all-electric Porsche Macan will also be based on the PPE platform. As for the Q6 e-tron, its rivals are the BMW iX and upcoming models such as the Mercedes EQE and Lexus RZ.
